I ran Wharf to Wharf, a 6 mile race from Santa Cruz to Capitola on 7/27. It was a fun race and there were a lot of people. I couldn’t run my own pace for the first 2 miles. I finished in a decent time though. I finished in 48:07, that’s a 8:01 pace which isn’t so bad. After the race though, my right hamstring felt iffy!!
For the next week, I took it pretty easy, and rested a lot and only went to the gym a couple of times. But, my leg still felt funny!
The following Sunday, was the big one, the San Francisco 1st Half Marathon. I woke up at 4am and made it to SF at 5am! And ran at 5:30! I didn’t even get a chance to stretch! I think that was a bad decision because boy, did I hurt after mile 10. I literally walked and stood there to rest a few times — I was cramping that much! OMG, this was probably the worst race ever! IT WAS HARD! It was hilly too! I guess that’s what happens when you don’t train. GOD!

Look at those awful times!! I was doing pretty good in the beginning too!
