I was looking through some old work this evening and found some things that I liked. All of these works were done in photoshop. There were lots of masking, and color correction involved. Masking and color correction is a bit hard to do sometimes, but it’s great for creating striking compositions.
Below are two mastheads that I created in photoshop. This was for the InSite Vision website. I actually, retouched all the mastheads in the site and created a few. It was a fun thing to do.
I like how this one turned out, it looks quite real imho. I remember using the clone and stamp tool, drawing in lines, and shading to make it look authentic.
This one turned out pretty well too. I remember having a difficult time color adjusting it because it was originally on a black background making everything too dark and throwing off the lighting.

This was a photoshop render of an award that we won for one of our websites. Originally, we tried to find a nice photograph of the award and take our own, but it didn’t turn out so well. In the end, I had to make this instead.
Lastly, these are some buttons that I created for the Aryx website. Most of these buttons were created using assets from their library. The only button that did not utilize any of their files is the top left one. For that one, I had to create the red blood cells from scratch and draw the little guy.

Sometimes, I tend to think that print is becoming obsolete while everything is becoming digital, but amazing print pieces like these make me take a step back.
This book is called the “Pop-up Book of Phobias” and is incredibly well done. The pages with the spider and the snake really pops out and come alive!
From further exploration, I found a bunch of interesting videos on pop-up book production.

Pissed off at Simpsonize Me and inspired by my previous post, I created a mini me! I’m even wearing the tshirt I designed! Hehe. I use this as my Facebook picture.

I found these while archiving my computer. I recently bought two WD 500gb My Books to back up all of my old computers before wiping them clean and giving them away.
The first one was a self promotion piece. It’s a desktop wallpaper depicting my true identity.
I was inspired to make it when I got my faux mohawk haircut. Some friends started calling me, Ultraman because of the hair. It was pretty hilarious.
I had a very fun time making this!
The second one was my attempt of designing a tshirt. I call it, “Love and Death!” It’s a twisted tale of a batwinged Pysche chopping down her wingless Cupid…
(Hehe, I have a wild imagination. That’s NOT what really happens in the real story of Cupid and Psyche!)
