(eep, need to take a better picture!)
I finally got a new computer last week! It’s pretty sweet!
A new 24″ iMac:
I like it a lot. I even hooked up my old Dell 20″ LCD for dual screens! And installed VMware Fusion with Windows XP for easy website QA.
It’s pretty much set up now, but I still need to format one of my WD My Book 500GB external hard drives for Time Machine and set up my color laser printer for network printing! Speaking of which, I need a new black toner cartridge! :/

Tonight, I’ve been playing with swicki. It’s an interesting concept. It’s a custom search engine that is like a wiki where you and the swicki community control the search results. Below is my swicki. I’m still working out the kinks of it, but the gist of it is there (or I hope)…

I’ve been thinking about getting a 24in iMac or a base model MacPro. In either scenarios, I will be upping the RAM. I figure that, I will be spending at least $2.5k for either one.
The iMac is like a nice piece of furniture and that huge monitor is tempting but it lacks upgradability like the MacPro. I’m really leaning towards the MacPro but will not buy one until August. In August, they are announcing a new iMac (according to MacRumors).
We’ll see what happens…. it’s a huge investment! OR, I may even wait for Leopard before buying….

I couldn’t afford a Nulooq as it retails for a whopping $80! So, I went with the PowerMate instead.
It may not have as many functions as the Nulooq, but it’s pretty sweet too. There’s lots of 3rd party support for it, you can even program it to pulsate when you have new mail! I’m glad that I didn’t opt for the Nulooq because I honestly don’t use the PowerMate that much. I use it mainly to scroll long documents and websites instead of using page up/down. Maybe, I’ll use it for other things later, but this isn’t bad for only $20. That being said, I wouldn’t know if I’d buy another if it happens to break….

From my previous post, I finally started using my tablet and am loving it! I liked it so much, that I requested for one at work too. I have an Intuos 4 6×8 at work. Comparing it to the Graphire 3 6×8 that I have at home, the Intuos kicks the Graphire’s ass! It’s so much more precise and accurate than the Graphire, plus on the Intuos’ pen, the button isn’t at an odd position like on the Graphire. I would recommend anyone who can afford it, to buy an Intuos over a Graphire. It’s so much better! It’s very true that you do get what you pay for!
